Hello, I’m Esme.

I’m a birth and postpartum doula with a background as a holistic massage and facial therapist. For many years I’ve loved working closely with clients supporting deep relaxation and nervous system regulation though the power of touch. This experience has shaped the calm, nurturing way I approach supporting families.

I was drawn to doula work because I believe women deserve more care and support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period than many currently receive. These are profound and transformative moments in life and having the right support around you can make such a meaningful difference.

My role as a doula is to offer a steady, compassionate presence helping parents feel informed, reassured, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks with their baby. Whether offering emotional support during labour or gentle practical help in the postpartum period, my aim is always to create a calm and supportive environment where families feel truly seen and held.

Alongside birth and postpartum support, I also offer mobile pregnancy massage and reflexology treatments, bringing my background in therapeutic touch into my work with expectant and new parents.

Based in Hackney I’m passionate about supporting families across East and North London.

When I’m not doing doula work, you’ll usually find me making ASMR videos (a side hustle I fell into!), swimming, or attempting to learn to knit for the millionth time!

I truly believe every family deserves to feel held, supported, and deeply cared for during the wild ride that is the transition into parenthood.

What is a Doula?

What is a Doula? *

This is a great question and tricky because doulas and what they do is so personal to your needs and to each doula but broadly speaking a doula is someone who supports you through pregnancy, birth, and the early days with your baby - emotionally, practically, and with a calm, steady presence.

I’m there for you and your family.

While midwives and doctors focus on the medical side of things, a doula’s role is to make sure you feel supported, reassured, and cared for throughout your experience. That might involve talking things through, helping you feel more prepared for birth, offering comfort and reassurance during labour, or simply being there in the early days while you find your feet with your baby.

There’s no one way to be supported - every family is different and it’s my job to become intune with those needs.

Sometimes it’s answering questions and helping you feel more confident. Sometimes it’s holding your baby so you can rest or have an uninterrupted shower. Sometimes it’s just sitting with you, having a cup of tea, and making sure you don’t feel alone.

At its heart, doula support is about making sure that during a time when so much attention is on the baby, you feel looked after and held too!

My doula promise is that I will always listen and I mean really listen! I will validate your feelings and your experiences. I will hold space for you and your needs in that moment and for those of your family. and finally I will signpost you to trusted sources of information when needed so you can feel informed and confident to make your own decisions.
